Town of Islip Holiday Fair

Saturday, December 01, 2012, 10:00am - 04:30pm More than 60 craft vendors will be displaying their handcrafted items at the Town of Islip Holiday Fair and are sure to please everyone on your shopping list. The Holiday Fair is open free to the public. Refreshments also are available for purchase. Later in the day, be sure to see Santa arrive in Islip at the “Santa Comes to Town” parade. The Parade kicks off at 2:00PM at Brookwood Hall, 50 Irish Lane in East Islip. Then travels down Main Street (Montauk Highway) in Islip to the reviewing stand at Town Hall West. The parade is co-sponsored by the Islip Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Islip. After the Parade, Santa will be available to sit with the children and hear all of their wishes for the upcoming Holiday! There will be an opportunity for parents to take their own photos of their children with Santa free of charge.

The 18th Gary Mintz Memorial Pancake Run for the benefit of the Brentwood High School Scholarship fund

5K Competitive Run & 1.5K Fun Run/Walk. Gary Mintz was the Principal of Brentwood High School from 1989 until his sudden death in 1995. Together with Mr. O'Brien, his successor, he had developed the idea of having a community 5k race on the morning of the scholarship pancake breakfast in December.
