Suffolk's Bravest online video

Suffolk’s Bravest is planning to produce an online video that recognizes the courage and dedication of our fire and EMS communities, and we want all departments to be represented! Our intent is to produce the video using still photos from every one of our County’s emergency services agencies, and we need your help. If you or someone you know is a volunteer, please consider submitting photos that capture the spirit of your agency. It could be in-service action at a fire or medical emergency, marching in a parade, a social event, an open house – just about any facet of the volunteer experience. There are two ways to submit: 1. Post your photos on the wall of the Suffolk’s Bravest Facebook page or send a private message on the Facebook page using the "Message" feature, with the photos attached. 2. Send us an email with photos attached to suffolksbravest@gmail.com. And don’t be shy about including your agency’s identification on a truck, uniform, building or banner. We want everyone to be recognized. National Volunteer Week - April 6-12 National Volunteer Week

Islip Town Begins to Fill Pot Holes

Town of Islip Highway crews were out in full force in the Brentwood community earlier this week, specifically on Pine Aire Drive, where they filled hundreds of potholes from Fifth Avenue to the Brentwood Train Station that were caused by the exceptionally harsh winter weather. Islip Town Councilman John Cochrane, Jr., met with highway crews during the operation to assess the damage and repair work, and thanked each for a job well done. Plans are underway for the complete reconstruction and resurfacing of Pine Aire in coming months, which will be made possible thanks to pending grant that has been secured by New York State Senator Phil Boyle. Town crews are out in almost every hamlet to make our roads safe. Residents may call to report a pothole at 224-5600.
