Free Philharmonic concert at Heckscher State Park
The annual free Philharmonic concert at Heckscher State Park in East Islip will again be a Salute to the Armed Forces. Special guests will be members of the Claude B. Govan Tri-State Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen. As a tribute to these heroes and leaders, the LI Philharmonic will play an arrangement of Nat King Cole's Straighten Up and Fly Right.
The concert will be held at Heckscher State Park in East Islip on Saturday July 14. For more information, contact the Islip Arts Council at 631-224-5420.

Concert
Senior Pops Orchestra of Long Island presents a variety of classical and pops favorites, on June 3, at 2p.m.,at the Van Nostrand Theatre on the Brentwood Campus of Suffolk Community College. The concert is a salute to the Charter Members of BFCU, former Grumman employees who had worked on the lunar module. OUTDOOR DEMONSTRATION EXPO
New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, WALK Radio 97.5, and Eastern Mountain Sports announce an Expo at Heckscher State Park, East Islip on June 2, 2012, from 10:00am-4:00pm. All clinics and demonstrations are free to the public and will feature a fleet of kayaks, stand up paddle boards, road and mountain bikes, minimalist and trail running footwear, plus additional outdoor gear and accessories for attendees to try with the guidance and advise of trained experts.
