75th Anniversary

Assemblyman Phil Ramos presented a proclamation honoring the library's 75th Anniversary (1937-2012) to Brentwood Public Library Trustees William Menendez and Francis Picart, Board President Mary Reid, Library Director Tom Tarantowicz, Board Vice President Ellen Edelstein, Assistant Director Marcia Pryluck, and Trustee Gail Kirkham on April 26, 2013.

Town of Islip S.T.O.P. DAY

The Town of Islip is hosting the 2013 Spring S.T.O.P. Program on May 4th. S.T.O.P stands for Stop Throwing Out Pollutants. This is an event where residents can bring products such as aerosol cans, E-waste, batteries, propane tanks, and chemicals to be disposed of. Residents must bring their S.T.O.P. day flyer.The event is from 9 am - 2 pm. at the Multi Purpose Recycling Facility, 1155 Lincoln Ave., Holbrook. FOOD FOR FINES

Brentwood Public Library celebrated National Library Week (April 14-20, 2013) by forgiving fines for the week. By bringing in a non-perishable food item to the circulation desk, fines were waived on overdue books, DVDs, system games or CDs. Over 850 pounds of food was donated to a local food pantry. Thanks for helping your neighbors, yourself, and the library!
