POWER UP COMMUNITIES

Power Up Communities is a new non-profit green energy program brought to you by NYSERDA and the Long Island Progressive Coalition. Power Up Communities values the four “C’s” of energy efficiency:  Cost Savings: Power Up staff help you take advantage of this innovative home energy efficiency program that improves the performance of your home. These improvements will cut the cost of your home energy bill! The first step is as simple as signing up for a Free Home Energy Assessment.  Comfort: These improvements eliminate cold rooms and drafts allowing you to spend family time in rooms full of comfort and without drafts.  Careers: Our participating contractors will exclusively hire local residents to insulate and repair your home, while paying good wages with benefits.  Community: Now you have the power to raise thousands of dollars for your church, synagogue, PTA, Little League or other community organizations by referring Power Up to your neighbors and friends. Participating contractors have agreed to give $300 for every successful referral that leads to a home energy improvement. A $100 will be given to the individual who made the referral and $200 will be donated to their community based organization or religious institution of choice. If they prefer, all $300 can be donated! All of these benefits for you and the environment, without paying a dollar out of pocket!
