MEALS FOR KIDS

During the school year, many kids get reduced-cost or free lunches at school. The sites listed here provide children with meals throughout the summer months. Suffolk County provides free breakfast and lunch to kids under the age of 18 through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program. For more information and additional locations, call 866-3-hungry. Locations that offer free breakfast and / or lunch for children: Brentwood Northeast Elementary School, 2 Devon Road, Brentwood-434-2316 (food service). Now through August 15, breakfast from 8:00am-8:30am, lunch from 11:45am-12:15pm. Bay Shore High School, 155 Third Avenue, Bay Shore 968-1193 (food service). Now through August 17, breakfast from 7:00am-8:30am, lunch from, 10:30am-12:00pm. Lighthouse Mission in Central Islip, the corner of Carlton Avenue and Suffolk Avenue, Central Islip (800-522-5006). Now through August 29, WEDNESDAY ONLY lunch from 12:00-1:00pm.
